Not all faces are created equal, and neither are facelifts

Compare with other treatments

While the best way to find out the most appropriate procedure or procedures for you is to discuss your concerns with an experienced, qualified facial cosmetic surgeon, it may help to associate each facial procedure with a certain area of ageing:

Deep Plane Facelift

The Deep Plane Facelift differs from a traditional facelift in that the surgeon operates ono the supportive layer of the face. This layer is below the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) layer, where most facelifts target.

With a SMAS facelift, patients’ results don’t last as long because of the tightly pulled skin that gives the patient an ‘operated’ look.

Instead, by operating under the SMAS layer, patients get longer lasting change.

Mrinal Supriya studied under world-famous face surgeon Andrew Jacono to go beyond this technique in what is known as the ‘minimal access deep plane’ (MADE) vertical vector facelift.

By combining the features of a Deep Plane facelift and those of the short-scar minimal access cranial suspension lift, Mr Supriya can reposition excess soft tissue to the back portion of the jaw to restore the contour and volume that creates the arc of a youthful feminine jawline.

This type of facelift is performed by less 5% of surgeons because it is a technically more difficult procedure even though the results are more rejuvenating and longer lasting by 10 years, on average.

SMAS Facelift (weekend facelift)

The SMAS facelift, targets the lower two-thirds of the face.
It is performed to address sagging skin, excess fat, jowls, and loss of volume in the cheeks.
It is less invasive than a deep plane facelift, because it only targets the superficial skin of the face. However, it can create an unnaturally tight and stretched appearance to the face.

Mr Supriya is an amazing person, not only a very competent surgeon but a very kind caring man who put himself out completely to help and accommodate Mia for her surgery. For the first time in 12 years Mia can breath properly so to say we are grateful is an understatement.”
