Why rhinoplasty?

Learn why the nose job has become one of the world’s most popular facial cosmetic procedures

You can hide or camouflage any part of your body, except for your nose.

Without a doubt, our nose is the most prominent part of our face, defining its features and acting as the visual centre of gravity. It is the central point where the onlookers gaze naturally tends to focus.

It is no wonder that any imperfections in the appearance of our nose – such as a slight bend, a small depression or a hump, minimal irregularity of the profile, an unusual angle with our face – are hard to ignore compared to defects elsewhere on the body.

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that I offer for two reasons; the first is to improve the aesthetic appearance of the nose. The second reason is to alleviate a blockage of the nasal airway and to create an air passage that allows for comfortable and unhindered breathing.

In most cases, I address the cosmetic (enhancing the appearance of the nose) and functional (improving the nasal airway) aspects of the nose in the same procedure.

Here are some possible reasons why you may seek rhinoplasty:

  • The nose was broken or injured by previous trauma
  • The nose feels blocked
  • The nose is crooked or deviated
  • There is a hump on the dorsum (back) of the nose
  • The nasal tip is too thick, round or uneven
  • The nose appears too long or too short
  • There is an indentation (saddle) on the dorsum (back) of the nose
  • The nose and lip require correction after previous surgery for cleft lip or palate

Who benefits from a nose job / rhinoplasty?

For anyone who feels self-conscious about their nose
You feel like your insides don’t match your outsides

You know you are beautiful on the inside yet when you catch sight of yourself in the mirror, you don’t feel it reflects who you are. You want these two states to match up more closely.

You feel like your nose could use some adjustment to bring out your best.

Maybe it’s an unusual hook in your nose, or maybe it bends slightly to the right. Maybe you feel your nose is too big or too small for your face. Or, it might be that you feel the overall shape of your nose just doesn’t suit your face shape. We get it. You don’t feel like your nose helps you look your best.

You would like to change the shape of your nose but want a very natural looking end result

You’ve been thinking about changing the shape of your nose but you’ve seen some people that wound up with obvious looking changes and you really don’t want that. For you, the whole point of getting your nose treated is to finally not have to think about it anymore. You want a natural look that fits in so well with your face that everyone who meets you from now on will feel like you were born with your new nose.

A rhinoplasty can help you escape the self-consciousness you feel and reveal a new you

Hear what our patients have to say

Our reputation rests on the experience of our patients
“Mr. Supriya operated on my daughter Mia earlier this year carrying out a septoplasty and surgery to both turbinates. I am a nurse myself and have worked for many years in the operating theatre and cosmetic industry so I am used to dealing with surgeons. Mr Supriya is an amazing person, not only a very competent surgeon but a very kind caring man who put himself out completely to help and accommodate Mia for her surgery. For the first time in 12 years Mia can breath properly so to say we are grateful is an understatement.”
S.A., Septoplasty
“I was there for my medical examination. From setting up appointments, registration, consultation and check up process, all staff and Mrinal himself were exceptional. I would highly recommend the clinic and I am very happy with the results of my treatment.”
M. R., Deep Plane Facelift
“I have received only what I can describe as world class treatment from Mr Supriya. His care & professionalism has been a comfort for me from day one.”
A. C., Rhinoplasty
“Dr Supriya was very friendly, professional, and put me at ease straight away. He spent time talking to me about specifically what I wanted and gave me his honest advice. Consultations were always very positive, and I didn’t feel nervous for my surgery.”
K. T., Facelift
“The result from my surgery was fantastic – it was exactly what I wanted. I had an open septorhinoplasty, and as soon as I came out of surgery I could breath much better than before. To my surprise, I didn’t experience any noticeable facial bruising or swelling at any point in my recovery.”
G. E., Septorhinoplasty
“The results were so natural-looking that no one at work could tell I had anything done! I am delighted with my experience overall, and would certainly recommend Dr Supriya to anyone interested in cosmetic surgery, particularly rhinoplasty.”
G. v.H., Rhinoplasty
“My experience has been amazing from the first consultation till the surgery and even after the surgery. The support and care given by Steve (Patient Coordinator) and my surgeon Dr Mrinal Supriya has been amazing and comforting. I am very pleased with the results so far and I couldn’t be happier.”
C. T., Septorhinoplasty

Compare with other treatments

While the best way to find out the most appropriate procedure or procedures for you is to discuss your concerns with an experienced, qualified facial cosmetic surgeon, it may help to associate each facial procedure with a certain area of ageing:

Deep Plane Facelift

The Deep Plane facelift differs from a traditional facelift in that the surgeon operates ono the supportive layer of the face. This layer is below the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) layer, where most facelifts target.

With a SMAS facelift, patients’ results don’t last as long because of the tightly pulled skin that gives the patient an ‘operated’ look. Instead, by operating under the SMAS layer, patients get longer lasting change.

Mrinal Supriya studied under world-famous face surgeon Andrew Jacono to go beyond this technique in what is known as the ‘minimal access deep plane’ (MADE) vertical vector facelift.

By combining the features of a Deep Plane facelift and those of the short-scar minimal access cranial suspension lift, Mr Supriya can reposition excess soft tissue to the back portion of the jaw to restore the contour and volume that creates the arc of a youthful feminine jawline.

This type of facelift is performed by less 5% of surgeons because it is a technically more difficult procedure even though the results are more rejuvenating and longer lasting by 10 years, on average.

SMAS Facelift

In traditional face-lifting, the surgeon lifts the skin but not the underlying SMAS. This can create an unnatural tight stretched appearance to the patient’s face.
In the Deep Plane technique, Mr Supriya lifts the skin and muscle (SMAS) together as one. He then repositions all deep facial musculature.

Brow and Forehead Surgery

A browlift improves the forehead and above the eyebrows. This is distinct from a facelift, which mainly improves the mid to lower face, from the cheekbones to the chin and jawline. Learn more about browlifts >>

Eyelid Lift Surgery

A eyelid lift improves the orbital area, around the eyes from the cheekbone to the brow bone. This distinct from a facelift, which mainly improves the mid to lower face, from the cheekbones to the chin and jawline. Learn more about eyelid lifts >>

Cheek Sculpting – Implants and Fillers

Cheek sculpting can also be used for people who perhaps never had strong cheeks or who want that stronger more striking “high cheekbone” shape. Learn more about cheek sculpting>>

Face and neck Liposuction

Liposuction (also known as fat removal) involves sucking out small areas of fat that are hard to lose through exercise and diet. Learn more facial liposuction >>

Lip implants and fillers

Implants and fillers (including Permalip) are both great ways to touch up your appearance and give you the fresh, youthful look. Learn more about implants and fillers >>
