There are a variety of different types of rhinoplasty techniques that can be used during surgery to achieve the result a patient is looking for. During your consultation, Mr Mrinal Supriya will discuss the different types and decide which one will be most suitable to meet your goals.

ToggleClosed Rhinoplasty
This approach is mainly used to remove a hump from the bridge of the nose. It is the most common type of nose surgery and avoids any external scars with incisions undertaken on the inside of the nose.
Open Rhinoplasty
Open rhinoplasty is the best option for patients wanting more extensive nose contouring. Mr Supriya can use this approach to reduce the projection, alter the tip and nostrils, remove a hump on the bridge as well as narrow the nasal bridge. Grafting can be used to build up the bridge or straighten the nose that is deviated to one side. He can fix structural deformities, trauma or general cosmetic improvements. An incision is made between the nostrils in the crease line, the skin is then lifted to allow Mr Supriya full access to the nasal structure to perform the reshaping. Scaring is very minimal and will not be noticeable once healed.
Septo Rhinoplasty
This is a technique used to correct a deviated septum. The septum is the nasal cartilage and bone that run through the centre of the nose. If this bends to one side the nose can appear crooked and can often cause breathing issues. By using a graft (taking a piece of cartridge from inside the nose) and repositioning the septum the nose will appear straighter and breathing will be improved.
Rhino Tip Surgery
This type of surgery concentrates on the tip of the nose only. By reshaping the cartilage, the nose tip can be reduced, correct a hooked tip and alter the size and shape of the nostrils. It is important to be aware however, that the outcome of this surgery is dependant on how much cartilage is present at the tip if the nose compared to the thickness of a patient’s skin. Only the underlying structure is altered during this surgery so patients with thinner skin will notice a more prominent result than patients with thicker skin.
