In an interview, Mrinal Supriya speaks about rhinoplasty results
Laura Livesey: After rhinoplasty surgery, when can I expect to see a change?
Mrinal Supriya: The interesting bit is that as soon as the splint or the dressing from your nose is taken off, you will see a different nose. It will be swollen, but it should be different from what it was before the surgery.
Through the swelling, you will be able to get a hint of the changes that have been made, and you will also be able to get a good idea about what it’s all going to look like.
The swelling on your nose is not dramatic by the time your splint is removed. It will rapidly settle down to a significant degree.
Mrinal Supriya: If you are talking about getting the final outcome of your nose, you have to wait for at least nine months to twelve months. It takes that long for the scar tissue to remodel and heal up under the skin.
The final appearance of your nose, 75 to 80% of that will be apparent by the end of two to three weeks.
Laura Livesey: Fantastic. So you have to be a little bit patient. It’s not exactly perfect right away, but you have a nice indication fairly soon after surgery. That’s great.
Mrinal Supriya: Yes, quite soon after your surgery, within two weeks, you will have a very good idea about the altered appearance of your nose.
