What is Blepharoplasty?

Eyelid reduction, or lower eye bag surgery, remodels and tightens the eye area to offer patients a more youthful appearance. Whilst saggy eyelids and under eye bags can be visual annoyances, drooping skin under the eyes and unsightly creases and folds on the upper eyelids can leave people looking and feeling tired, fatigued and aged.

Surgeries are low risk minor procedures, with some minimally invasive approaches able to be performed under local anaesthesia. Results are long-term, with most patients not feeling the need to come back for a repeat procedure.

Upper Blepharoplasty is the quickest of the two treatments, taking as little as 30 minutes to complete, and performed under local anaesthesia in most cases, requiring minimal downtime.

Lower Blepharoplasty is slightly more complex, with treatments often taking between 1-2 hours, and completed under a general anaesthetic.

Scarring is very minimal, with almost all incisions made in a way that hides them within the natural folds of your eyelid. So you get great-looking results without the awkward questions about how you got your scar – because no-one will be able to see it.

What are the benefits of Blepharoplasty?

The benefits of upper and lower eye surgery are not only cosmetic. In some cases, the benefit is functional and practical too. These include:
