What happens during a Deep Plane Facelift?
During the procedure, an incision is made under the chin to access the deep planes of the face. The deep planes are layers of tissue that run horizontally across your forehead, cheeks, and jawline. The incision is then extended along these planes to access all areas of your face that need work. The surgeon will tighten sagging skin and muscle tissue using stitches. Fat may also be removed from these areas.
What is the recovery, and when can I see the results of a Deep Plane Facelift?
You should be able to return home within a few hours after surgery with minimal pain or bruising (if any) with no visible signs that you have had a facelift. If you experience significant swelling or bruising, it may take up to two weeks before it subsides enough for you to resume normal activities like driving or returning to work. The results are very natural looking without an over-tightened appearance or unusual skin folds.
