How do patients feel before rhinoplasty?

Mrinal Supriya discusses how a patient might feel before undergoing rhinoplasty.

Laura Livesey: If you have a nose that you don’t particularly care for, how do patients feel when they come to you about that nose?

Mrinal Supriya: Once you feel that the nose you have is not in keeping with the rest of your face, it quickly overtakes your life. It becomes a particular topic that you keep thinking about all the time. It makes you lose your self-confidence. You might start avoiding social gatherings. You don’t feel like you’re presentable enough to go into a professional situation. It impacts your interviews, your social life, your performance at work, and it can lead to a lot of angst. This is because your nose is such a prominent part of your identity. You can hide practically every other part of your body, but you cannot hide your nose. You cannot camouflage your nose.
